Open AllClose All- What happens to my donated hardware?

Working together Dell and ReCOM enable you to give people with disabilities and the disadvantaged in the United Kingdom an opportunity to lead a more independent, fulfilling and productive life. ReCOM a registered charity, is working in collaboration with Dell and the National Cristina Foundation (US). Your donation will be matched to an organisation which has applied to ReCOM for support.
- How can I determine if my hardware can be donated?

Any equipment can be donated through Dell provided it meets these minimum requirements.
Desk top computer requirements
- Pentium 4 or equivalent higher specification processors are accepted
- System must have a Processor, Flat Screen Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse.
- Software License Agreements should be included for installed software being donated.
- Hardware requiring repair cannot be accepted
- We do not accept printers or CRT monitors
Partial Systems
- We will accept a processor without a monitor if it is a Pentium 4 or higher specification
- We will accept an individual flat screen (TFT) monitor.
- Hardware requiring repair cannot be accepted
Notebook computer Requirements
- Pentium 4 or equivalent higher specification processors are accepted.
- Software License Agreements should be included for installed software being donated.
- Hardware requiring repair cannot be accepted.
- What do I do with the data on my hard-drive?

Before you pack up your donation you will need to back up any necessary data and then remove it from your hard drive. You are responsible for the deletion of all data that may be contained with the computer hardware.
- What if I forget to delete the data on my hard-drive?

You must remove all data from your hard drive before shipment. Dell and ReCOM are not responsible for any data left on hard drives.
- How many computers may I donate?

This service is provided to Dell customers who
- wish to donate their old Dell equipment
- have recently purchased new Dell equipment and want to donate their old equipment which may be of any make.
Only donations of a single desktop or notebook computer can be made through this channel. Individuals or businesses wishing to donate larger quantities should contact ReCOM directly at www.recom.org.uk.
- Is there a cost to me to donate my computer hardware?

No. This is a free service to Dell customers available via Dell's website www.dell.co.uk/recycling
- What if I don't get an e:mail with instructions?

If you have not received a confirmation email with further instructions within five working days of making your on-line donation send an email to: admin@recom.org.uk.
- Is this service available anywhere in the UK?

This service is available to residents in England, Scotland and Wales.
