What you need to know
This
service is provided to Dell customers who
- wish to donate their old Dell desktop or notebook computer
- have recently purchased a new Dell computer and want to donate their old
computer which may be of any make
Only donations of a single desktop or notebook computer can be made through
this channel. Individuals or businesses wishing to donate larger quantities
should contact ReCOM directly at www.recom.org.uk.
ReCOM's aim is to match the needs of beneficiaries against offered donations and
hence some minimum technical specifications must be met for the actual
donation to be accepted by ReCOM.
Desk top Computer requirements
- Only Pentium 3 or equivalent higher specification processors are accepted
- Systems should have a Processor, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse
- CRT Monitors must be a minimum of 17"
- Hardware requiring repair cannot be accepted
- We cannot accept printers.
Notebook Computer Requirements
- Only Pentium 2 or equivalent higher specification processors are accepted
- Hardware requiring repair cannot be accepted
Partial Systems
- We will accept a processor without a monitor if it is a Pentium 3 or higher
specification
- We will accept an individual 17" CRT monitor or any size TFT monitor.
Software

If you want to donate software the original Software License Agreements
should be included in your package.
Data
- Before you donate your computer, it is recommended that you back up all your
data and after that remove the data from the hard drives(s).
- You are responsible for all confidential data that may be stored on
your computer(s) or on any other storage devices with or on all products
you donate. You bear sole responsibility for removing or securing such
data, or for transferring it to a medium under your continuing control.
Dell and ReCOM cannot be held accountable for any data on the donated
equipment.
