How to Donate

• Decide which equipment you would like to donate. ReCOM accepts complete desk top systems (processor, monitor, keyboard and mouse) and notebooks.

• Check your donation meets our minimum requirements by looking at What you need to know. If it doesn't you may want to use Dell UK's recycling web site.

• Go to Making a Donation and complete the on-line donation process.

Collection Arrangements

• Within five business days, you will receive an email with detailed collection instructions, a date for collection and an address label for your parcel(s).

• Be sure to remove any personal data from your system as Dell and ReCOM will not be held accountable for the data.

• A courier company will collect the parcel(s) on the date arranged with you. You may nominate a morning or afternoon collection.

• Please ensure you are available for collection.

  • If the collection is unsuccessful, you will need to email ReCOM with an alternate date and we will re-book the collection.
  • If the collection is unsuccessful a second time, your request will be cancelled.

• If you would prefer to drop off your donation at a depot please email us at donate@recom.org.uk.

Packing

To ensure your shipment arrives on time and in proper condition, please follow these simple shipping tips. (You will need to provide your own box and packing material):

• Use sturdy corrugated cardboard boxes. We encourage the use of recycled boxes. Please make sure that the box is in good condition to ship your equipment.

• Wrap fragile materials individually so they do not touch each other.

• Where possible remove the swivel base from the monitor as this will make it easier to pack and less susceptible to damage in transit

• Please make sure that the contents in the box are secure and packaged firmly inside taking particular care to protect the monitor screen.

• Pack your equipment into 1 or 2 boxes, each box must not weigh over 31kg (68lbs). The processor and monitors should be boxed separately.

• Tape the box(es) closed.

• Remove old address/shipping labels from the outside of the box.

• Attach the address label which we will provide for each parcel.
