Our Work
Affordable Computers
ReCOM help individuals and community groups benefit from IT by providing low-cost reconditioned computers. To achieve this we need donations of redundant IT equipment from companies and individuals. Through our association with Dell and a network of charities involved in computer re-use we seek to offer national coverage for donations of equipment.
Training programmes in Solihull and Birmingham
We have a growing number of activities
- Computer Clubs for the over 55s in North Solihull, Shirley, Acocks Green and Kings Heath;
- IT training for charities and community groups;
- Support to people in their homes through our IT@Home Project; and
- Helping people with disabilities and low income families get online through the Access IT project.
Volunteers and professional tutors both play a vital role in helping us deliver this programme.
We are very grateful for the financial support we receive from charitable trusts and the Learning & Skills Council who fund the Access IT Project.
