Business Donations

By working with partners across the country ReCOM aims to provide a free service to donors.

ReCOM matches the donated computer technology to one or more of its partner organisations based on the information provided.

Partners are charities and not for profit organisations who help the disabled and disadvantaged enhance their lives through access to technology. They are pre-screened for eligibility.

What to do

Donors inform ReCOM about the quantities, specifications and location of the equipment to be donated. This can be done using our business donation form or by emailing us an inventory of the equipment.

ReCOM accepts donations of working desktop computers and notebooks but ReCOM's aim is to match the needs of the beneficiaries against offered donations and hence some minimal technical specifications must be met for the actual donation to be accepted.

• Only Pentium 4/1.8ghz or equivalent and higher specification processors
• Flat screen monitors only
• Hardware requiring repair cannot be accepted

Some of our partners are prepared to handle a small quantity of lower specification equipment as part of a larger donation but may charge for this. Also most partners have the flexibility to accept partial systems (ie processors without monitors or just monitors).

Donated equipment is collected by partner organisations or ReCOM. Donors may also deliver redundant equipment to partner locations.

Partners carry out data wiping and refurbish the equipment in order to supply it to their beneficiaries.
